Where does the breed name Legbar come from and what does it mean?

The breed originate in Italy with the Birds originating from the port of leghorn on the west coast of Italy. It was introduced into Britain and the UK  around the middle of the 19th century ( circa 1850) and North America in 1835. Originally in the USA the breed were known as the Italians.

The Egg colour can vary but is normall a shade within the following range Blue, Green or Olive.
